Thanks to the DUPONT ENERGETICA SpA, Gruppo Maio is also present in the United Arab Emirates market. In particular, the company signed a joint venture with TARHEEL Collecting Wastes LLC on January 15^th, 2020 for the development of the company's core business activities in the area of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Furthermore, with the subsidiary BLEU MIDDLE EAST Ltd, the Group has entered into a partnership with TARHEEL Collecting Wastes LLC. Thanks to this partnership it has signed an agreement with the Abu Dhabi government agency TADWEER-Abu Dhabi Center of Waste Management (CWM) for the recovery and disposal of used tires. Currently the agreement provides for the disposal of a first batch of 100,000 tons of used tires in three years, with the option of renewal.
